When you come back down to reality

Hey Reader :)

You know that feeling when you get back from something that lit you up?

A retreat, a big weekend, a high of some kind... and for a minute you feel untouchable. And then a day passes. Maybe two. And the old thoughts start creeping back in like they never left.

"You're not doing enough." "You're not enough." "What did they think of me?" "Who am I supposed to be today?" AKA the loop. The one that's been running quietly in the background this whole time, just waiting for the high to wear off so it can talk again.

I spent the weekend at a yoga festival... deeply connected, moving my body, laughing, eating well, actually present with people. And then I came home. And normal life started again. And that loop tried to pick up right where it left off.

So I made a new video walking through what I actually do when that happens. Not some abstract concept, the real thing... how I bring it back to the breath, how I overwrite the lie on purpose, and how I check in with the wisdom that's already in me before I decide what's next.

If you've ever noticed that voice getting loud right after you felt your best, this one's for you.

Link below. Curious what shows up for you when you watch it.

Much love,

Casey

Oh man, I am in my mind way too much sometimes. And when that happens, it spins. "What should I be doing?" "Why did I do that?" "Am I doing the right thing?" Sound familiar? I used to just get swept away by it. Practically drowning in thoughts. Then I started doing this, and it changed my whole perspective. ZOOM OUT. Here's how I do it. Tip 1 - Look at the thought, not from inside it Instead of going into the thought... I look at it. It's just a thought. It doesn't have to mean anything. I...

Hi Reader! What does it look like to “level up” in life? I’m assuming you want to level up, right? Next level at work. Next level of peace. Next level of love. Next level of abundance. Next level of fitness. Do you know how you actually level up? “Start doing things you don’t normally do towards the desire you want to achieve.” Now when I say don’t normally do, that might mean doing completely different things, but it can also mean doing the same things in a different way. Like at the gym....

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” One of my favorite quotes in the ancient texts. I believe we are born with new minds — and then the world starts to tell us how to be, how to act, what to think. We had emotions but didn’t know how to express them. We learned things that didn’t seem right, but that was just the way it was. Eventually, hopefully, the pattern of this world becomes too much and we have a break. The misery outweighs...
